Syntilay has set its sights on reshaping footwear design with a product that blends artificial intelligence, cutting-edge 3D printing, and a radical aesthetic. At a glance, these slides break every convention of traditional footwear. The sculptural design, intricate texturing, and futuristic form factor signal a comfortable slip-on that represents a shift in how shoes are conceived, produced, and worn.

Designer: Syntilay

A Design That Defies Convention

The Syntilay slides are a unique entry into the foam clog category. Unlike the minimalistic silhouettes of Crocs or Yeezy Foam Runners, these shoes break the mold with their biomechanical-inspired aesthetic. Their sculptural structure is layered with intricate patterns and textures, creating a fluid, dynamic visual effect. Deep, organic grooves add a sense of movement, almost as if the material was shaped by natural forces rather than manufactured. The design blends aesthetics and functionality into a seamless form, drawing inspiration from topographical mapping and even the exoskeleton of a creature.

The open-toe structure is both functional and aesthetic, allowing for ventilation while reinforcing the shoe’s distinct identity. The exaggerated cutouts on the sides go beyond standard aeration, giving the silhouette a futuristic, almost biomechanical presence. They create visual contrast, breaking up the form and adding a sense of lightness despite the shoe’s otherwise bold stance.

Material flexibility is another key aspect. When manipulated by hand, the shoe demonstrates its softness and pliability, highlighting its comfort and ability to adapt to the foot’s natural movement. The off-white, almost bone-like color enhances its organic aesthetic, while a subtle glow hints at a possible luminescent effect or reflective properties.

The sole itself carries the same attention to detail, featuring intricate engraving and raised textures that enhance grip while reinforcing the overall aesthetic. The branding is subtly integrated into the sole, allowing the shoe’s shape and texture to take center stage. Unlike typical slides that rely on simple, smooth bottoms, this approach makes the footwear feel more integrated and purposeful.

Overall, the design speaks to a blend of futurism and nature-inspired aesthetics, merging technical functionality with artistic expression. The form is designed for aesthetics and function, delivering comfort, grip, and seamless movement, unlike conventional slides.

The Technology Behind the Design

Beyond aesthetics, these shoes are built on a solid technological foundation. The design process begins with AI-generated concepts, using MidJourney to craft the initial ideas. From there, human designer Kedar Benjamin refines these forms into standardized sketches, which are then translated into 3D models through Vizcom AI. The result is a design language that wouldn’t be possible using traditional CAD tools alone.

Once finalized, the slides are 3D-printed on demand through Syntilay’s partnership with Zellerfeld, a company specializing in additive footwear manufacturing. This method eliminates traditional assembly steps, reducing waste and ensuring that each pair is printed as a single cohesive unit. The use of TPU gives the slides their flexibility and durability, balancing comfort with structural integrity.

Customization plays a central role in this process. Instead of relying on standard sizing, Syntilay uses smartphone foot scanning technology, allowing each pair to be tailor-made for the wearer. This approach helps solve fit inconsistencies, especially for those with slight differences between their left and right feet.

The Challenge of Scaling a Futuristic Vision

Despite its technical innovation, the Syntilay slide faces hurdles in proving its practicality beyond aesthetics. The $149.99 price tag places it well above typical foam-based slides, requiring a strong justification for durability, comfort, and long-term usability. While the AI-assisted design process significantly accelerates product development, the company claims its approach “speeds up development” and can “produce a product within days.” Additionally, Syntilay states that the “entire idea-to-market process could be accelerated by a factor of 9.”

However, scaling production efficiently remains a significant challenge. Currently, production is limited to a few thousand pairs, indicating that mass production is not yet feasible. Each pair takes approximately three weeks to produce, as orders are fulfilled on-demand, further constraining production capacity. This could lead to limited accessibility if demand surges, though this is a logical inference rather than a confirmed issue.

It’s also important to note that part of this challenge stems from the product’s customized nature. Unlike mass-produced footwear, each pair is 3D printed on demand to fit the customer’s specific foot measurements. While this ensures a precise fit, it also inherently restricts large-scale manufacturing capabilities.

Additionally, while 3D printing is often positioned as a sustainable alternative to traditional manufacturing, concerns remain about the long-term durability of TPU in daily wear. Syntilay will need to demonstrate that its material choices can match or exceed the lifespan of conventional footwear to justify the premium price and ensure long-term consumer confidence.

Is This the Future of Footwear?

Syntilay’s approach is redefining shoe design. AI is now an integral part of the creative process, moving beyond simple assistance to actively shaping and refining forms that challenge conventional aesthetics. Combined with 3D printing, this fusion enables highly personalized, waste-reducing production methods that have the potential to transform the footwear industry.

But the real question is: Would you wear these? The design is bold, aggressive, and almost alien in its execution. For those who appreciate footwear as an artistic statement, this might be the perfect fusion of technology and style. For others, the unconventional form may feel too radical for everyday wear.

Regardless of personal preference, Syntilay’s AI-driven, 3D-printed slides mark an important milestone in footwear evolution. As brands continue to explore AI’s role in design, the future of shoes might not just be about what looks good—but about what technology enables us to create.

]]>

Samsung’s S25 launch event solidified its position as a leader in mobile AI innovation, demonstrating how its strong partnerships with Google and Qualcomm are fostering significant advancements for users. The panel discussion, hosted by Jay Kim, Samsung’s Executive Vice President and Head of the Customer Experience Office, featured AI thought leaders who offered an in-depth look at the collaborative effort behind seamlessly integrating AI into everyday experiences.

A Unified Vision for AI Accessibility

Dr. Chris Brauer, Director of Innovation at Goldsmiths, University of London, shared findings from an ongoing longitudinal study conducted with Symmetry Research. The research, supported by Samsung, highlighted an important shift in user behavior: frequent consumer use of mobile AI globally has nearly doubled in just six months, jumping from 16% in July 2024 to 27% by January 2025.

Dr. Chris Brauer, Director of Innovation at Goldsmiths, University of London, presents research on mobile AI adoption and the barriers to widespread use.

“Frequent consumer use of mobile AI globally has nearly doubled in just six months, jumping from 16% in July to 27% in January,” said Dr. Brauer. “As we analyzed the motivations and challenges surrounding mobile AI use, we found a really interesting theme among those less willing to adopt the technology: doubt. Doubt in AI’s ability to bring meaningful benefits to everyday life (56%), doubt and a lack of high confidence to use AI to its full potential (85%), and doubt around privacy and whether AI can be trusted (90%).”

However, discoverability and confidence in AI’s usefulness remain significant barriers. Many users still struggle to understand how to access and fully utilize these tools. Samsung’s approach, as explained by Jay Kim, addresses these challenges by embedding AI capabilities directly into the device interface. Features such as long-press activation for the Gemini Assistant and multi-modal interactions aim to make AI accessible without disrupting user routines.

Jay Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Samsung’s Customer Experience Office, discusses how intuitive AI integration enhances user experiences.

“Even though the benefit value of mobile AI is really high, if you can’t access it, it’s no use,” said Kim. “On Galaxy S25, accessing Gemini with a simple long-press of the side button is a perfect example. The AI behind that action is complicated, but not for the user. The important thing is to make it easy and intuitive, to encourage repetition so that these capabilities are eventually baked into your life.”

Building Smarter Experiences Through Partnership

The collaboration between Samsung, Google, and Qualcomm represents a new level of industry partnership aimed at maximizing AI’s potential. Qualcomm’s Christopher Patrick, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Handset, Voice & Music, and Wearables, emphasized the importance of on-device AI processing in delivering instant results without relying entirely on cloud resources. This approach maintains user privacy while ensuring real-time functionality. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platform, co-engineered with Samsung, integrates AI across various components, including display upscaling and advanced voice recognition.

Christopher Patrick, Senior Vice President and General Manager at Qualcomm, discusses the importance of on-device AI processing and its integration with the Snapdragon platform.

“Galaxy S25 marks a big step forward, able to engage with your personalized AI assistant in all new ways. It doesn’t just feel like interacting with a real person; it can perceive your environment and interact with content shown on your camera,” said Patrick. “Our close collaboration with Samsung to customize the processor makes these new capabilities feel seamless, something we are excited to see unfold.”

Google’s Sameer Samat, President of the Android Ecosystem, added perspective on AI’s evolving role, comparing it to other transformative technologies.

“Truly helpful AI must fit naturally into our daily lives,” explained Samat. “AI is a tool and not an end in itself, and what matters to consumers the most is how helpful AI can be for them. LLMs represent a massive leap in how computers understand human language. Previously, using AI felt a little like being trained by your machine. You had to learn rigid and rehearsed phrases. Now, you can speak in completely natural language, removing any friction from the overall experience.”

Real-Life Use Cases Driving Adoption

Concrete examples shared during the discussion demonstrated how AI simplifies everyday tasks. Jay Kim described using AI to translate a menu, recommend dishes within a budget, and even place an order—all through a single interaction. “Imagine being able to point your phone at a menu in another language, have it translated instantly, and even receive dish recommendations within your budget. That’s the kind of efficiency AI brings,” said Kim.

Another compelling use case involves using AI to navigate public transportation systems by analyzing schedules, suggesting optimal routes, and even purchasing tickets within seconds. Similarly, AI can assist users in finding relevant sections within dense documents or manuals simply by posing a question, such as “Where is the warranty information?” These capabilities illustrate how AI can streamline complex tasks into a seamless experience, freeing users to focus on the moment rather than navigating multiple apps or services.

Similarly, Sameer Samat shared a personal anecdote about his son using AI to set laundry machine settings by taking a photo of the control panel and asking the AI for the correct settings. “These are everyday tasks that become far easier when AI steps in to simplify the process. It’s about removing the friction,” noted Samat.

Christopher Patrick highlighted AI’s ability to enhance photo management, saying: “We’ve all experienced the frustration of scrolling through thousands of photos to find one image. AI eliminates that by making the search as simple as describing the memory. For example, searching for ‘a picture with the dog and the sweater and the cupcake’ becomes effortless.”

Privacy and Trust as Cornerstones

As AI becomes more personal, concerns around privacy and trust take center stage. Dr. Brauer’s research revealed that 90% of consumers still harbor significant doubts about AI’s privacy and trustworthiness. These concerns stem from fears about how personal data is collected, stored, and used, particularly as AI applications become more context-aware and intimately integrated into daily life.

Samsung’s solution lies in its Knox security platform and the use of on-device data processing. Features like Now Brief, which summarizes personalized daily updates using private data stored securely on the device, demonstrate this approach. “Samsung’s Knox platform ensures that user data remains entirely private and secure, giving users the confidence they need to trust the technology,” explained Kim.

Sameer Samat, President of Android Ecosystem at Google, highlights how natural language processing is reshaping AI to fit seamlessly into daily life.

Google’s hybrid AI model, which balances cloud and on-device processing, also addresses privacy concerns. Sameer Samat noted: “This model ensures that users can access powerful AI capabilities while maintaining control over their data.”

A Bold but Responsible Future

The panelists acknowledged the rapid pace of AI development as both exciting and daunting. Dr. Brauer’s research framed this moment as a pivotal point, likening it to the early days of the smartphone revolution.

“The rate of AI innovation is astounding. But what struck me about the research we did with Samsung is that the rate of mobile AI adoption is also rising at a rapid rate,” said Dr. Brauer. “We’re standing at a critical juncture where AI is no longer a niche technology but something that can genuinely enhance lives.”

Looking ahead, Samsung’s integration of AI and XR technologies signals a transformative shift in how users will engage with devices. AI-powered XR glasses, for instance, could enable users to navigate their surroundings with real-time contextual information, further blurring the line between physical and digital worlds.

“The fusion of AI and XR represents the next frontier in technology, creating entirely new ways to interact with the world around us,” explained Patrick.

Collaborative Innovation as a Driving Force

The success of the S25 and its AI capabilities highlights the importance of collaborative innovation. Samsung’s philosophy of open collaboration has allowed it to work closely with industry leaders like Google and Qualcomm to develop solutions that benefit users. Jay Kim reflected on the process, saying: “The process of getting AI integration right isn’t easy. It’s about constant collaboration and iteration to create something truly impactful.”

Google’s Sameer Samat added: “Trust is the cornerstone of any successful partnership, and it’s what allowed us to push the boundaries with the S25.”

The S25 launch shows how AI can naturally fit into daily routines. By making access simple and addressing privacy concerns, Samsung and its partners have ensured users can easily adopt AI tools. These changes make the technology more accessible and relevant to everyday life. Combining on-device and cloud-based AI processing ensures the technology is both effective and secure, tailored to meet a wide range of user needs.

Imagine snapping a stunning 13MP photo or recording a vibrant 2K video without lifting a finger. The horizontal video format isn’t just a favorite of YouTubers and influencers but also means that the AI sees the world the same way we do. With Looktech, a simple voice command or button press on the side does the trick, and thanks to Anti-Shake Technology, your recordings always come out smooth. And when it’s time to edit, the built-in AI video editor in the Looktech mobile app picks out the highlights, adds tunes, and throws in captions for a perfect finish.

These glasses are your new best friend, learning your quirks and preferences like a loyal sidekick. Need to set a reminder, find your way, or take a call? It’s all hands-free. The open-ear dual superlinear speakers offer rich sound without cutting you off from the world. And when you’re making a call in a bustling café or a noisy street, the microphone’s active noise cancellation and acoustic echo reduction make sure your voice comes through loud and clear.

Beyond capturing and connecting, Looktech’s camera sees signs and menus in foreign languages and whispers their translation in your ears, tracks calories, and even suggests recipes based on what’s in your fridge. This goes beyond just offering convenience. It’s about enhancing your lifestyle with a smart companion that grows alongside you, offering solutions that make everyday life a breeze. Looktech is powered by AI models from GPT-4o, Gemini, or Claude and will be constantly updated to ensure you have the latest and most reliable AI models at your beck and call.

Unlike other AI-powered devices and services, privacy is more than just a promise for Looktech. It is a guarantee that comes with these AI-powered glasses, and it is one of the top reasons why people are investing in them. Every photo, suggestion, and insight is anonymized and encrypted before it ever leaves your device. With the Looktech app, you decide what gets stored, deleted, or shared, putting you in the driver’s seat of your digital life. Feel free to explore and connect with AI, knowing your privacy is rock-solid.

The buzz around Looktech AI Glasses is undeniable. They’ve snagged the Best of Kickstarter award and turned heads at CES 2025. These glasses prove that you can have it all — privacy, style, and a personal AI assistant that doesn’t compromise on any front. So why settle for impersonal AI that treats you like a number? Looktech AI Glasses offer a vibrant, engaging experience that doesn’t just evolve with you but also looks as smart and stylish as you.

AI-powered self-watering indoor planter makes growing greens all too easy

]]>

Let’s face it: many of us would want to grow our own flowers and herbs but are afraid to do so because we don’t have a green thumb. In fact, some might even have the opposite of a green thumb, seemingly cursed to kill any vegetative life they handle. Of course, it’s really just a matter of knowing the right thing to do at the right time, which is harder to accomplish when plants only show visible signs when they’re almost dead.

That’s where everyone’s favorite AI comes in, taking the guesswork out of the equation. That’s the value that this deceptively plain and simple plastic pot tries to bring, making the act of growing indoor plants so easy, that you might even feel you’re not the one doing the work at all.

Designer: LeafyPod

Most of us were probably taught as early as grade school that plants need soil, water, and sunlight to grow. We would only learn too late, like when coming home to a dead plant, that this is an oversimplified explanation. Plants need the right amount of light, temperature, humidity, and soil moisture to thrive, and that’s not even considering how different plants will have different requirements.

Rather than overwhelming us poor humans with all that data, the LeafyPod simplifies life by utilizing a product that thrives on data: AI. Based on the plant you selected to grow, the smart indoor planter will learn how the plant responds to water, evaluate the quality of the soil, and automatically water the plant as needed to keep it in top condition. All you need to do is to refill the reservoir every month or so.

It might almost feel like you’ve totally automated the act of growing a plant, which in some sense, also takes out the joy from the activity, but there are still some things you do need to do by hand. You’ll need to move the plant to a better-lit area when it needs lighting since it doesn’t come with its own grow light. You’ll also have to replace the filter every few months, but as you might have guessed, the LeafyPod planter will be the one to tell you when to do all these.

The AI-powered LeafyPod is definitely a powerful tool that takes out the drudgery of growing plants indoors, but you might also want to ask yourself first why you’re trying to grow them in the first place. If all you want is an easy way to have beautiful living foliage or fresh herbs at home, then this indoor planter might be right for you. If, on the other hand, you actually want to experience the adventure of growing plants, this could just be a stepping stone in getting you started on a more earnest learning process.

AI-powered keyboard and mouse slides and retracts so you won’t have to move your hands

Even with the ubiquity of touch screens, most of use still use keyboards and mice as the primary way to interact with computers, both desktops and even laptops. As common as these devices might be, they weren’t initially designed decades ago with ergonomics in mind. Of course, we now have ergonomic keyboards and ergonomic mice, but that only solves half of the problem.

The other half is that our hands keep dancing back and forth between the keyboard, mouse, and sometimes a separate numeric keypad, which also causes strain. In an effort to solve this lingering issue, this “automatic keyboard and mouse” machine tries to keep your hands in the same position as much as possible by sliding in and out to switch between keyboards, numpad, and mouse, with some help from AI, of course.

Designer: AutoKeybo

Imagine having a desk where, instead of your hand flying sideways between the keyboard and your mouse, those peripherals move on their own and slide under your hands when you need them. And imagine having that happen automatically, without having to manually press a button that will break your flow. Autonomous keyboards and mice are, of course, still in the realm of science fiction, but apparently, we already have the next best thing: an AI-powered tray.

AutoKeybo is hard to describe in words, but once you see it in action, it immediately makes sense while also looking astonishingly odd. At first glance, you see what looks like a giant contraption with a split ergonomic keyboard at the top and a large box for your wrist rest. Once you start typing, however, you will see the magic of a device that will hopefully save your hands, wrists, and shoulders from serious and permanent injury.

The device has a total of four trays in pairs, one stacked on top of the other. The bottom trays house a mouse and a numeric keypad while the top pair holds two halves of the split keyboard. The top trays slide in to give you access to the mouse and numpad below so you won’t have to move your hands away just to reach them. They then slide back out to let you return to your typing without missing a beat. They can even move independently of each other, so you can slide only one tray to access the mouse or numpad quickly without losing access to some of the letters.

All of these happen automatically, or at least without pushing a button. Using AI and a built-in camera, AutoKeybo can detect hand gestures, in this case, splaying out your fingers, to trigger the switching mechanism. To make this possible, this device has a built-in Linux computer that you can actually use as a standalone computer, complete with an HDMI port and USB-C ports. It’s definitely an intriguing design, though it still remains to be seen whether the theory actually holds well in practice.

Picture yourself on a packed train during rush hour, a cacophony of announcements, chatter, and the low hum of the tracks surrounding you. You’re taking an urgent call. You lean in, whispering softly into your headset, barely audible to the person sitting inches away, yet your voice comes through crisp and clear on the other end. It might sound like noise-cancellation on steroids, but it’s possible thanks to an AI-powered headphone that lets you whisper entire conversations while the headphone does the rest, amplifying your voice.

Designer: Skyted

The magic here lies in how Skyted handles sound—yours and everyone else’s. It relies on a highly precise microphone array that can even hear whispers, along with an AI that helps enhance the. Yes, it sounds a bit sci-fi, but it’s surprisingly intuitive in practice. It uses an intelligent microphone built into the front that’s designed to capture even the slightest directional audio, along with a powerful AI algorithm that works hard to amplify your whisper while canceling out pretty much all kinds of external noise. What kind of cancellation are we talking about here? Well, I was in a noisy convention center and the wearer was whispering dialogues 2 feet away from me. I could hear every single word crystal clear.

The result? Privacy, even in the noisiest, most public places. Whether you’re whispering your side of a confidential work call or dictating notes for a project, no one around you will hear more than a faint murmur. And those on the other end of the line? They’ll think you’re calling from a library, even if you’re smack in the middle of a bustling airport terminal.

What really makes this device fascinating is how flexible it is. Skyted feels tailor-made for the remote worker who doesn’t want to be tethered to their home office or the podcaster tired of lugging around recording equipment. It’s also a game-changer for anyone who frequently takes calls in noisy environments—think salespeople, journalists, or even students navigating group projects in crowded cafés. And gamers, too, might finally find a headset that lets them coordinate their next big raid without worrying about leaking every background noise in their room. Heck, I can totally envision a phone with this technology too, so I don’t need to yell when I get a phone call in a noisy environment.

The headset looks unassuming until you actually try it out. I had the chance to demo a unit, with someone wearing it and whispering to me. Without the Skyted, I couldn’t hear a word of what he said. However, as soon as he switched the Skyted headset on, the microphone did a phenomenal job catching his audio and AI-enhancing it to make it crystal-clear. Skyted’s team said that the headphone was just step one, the next step is to build this tech into smartphones so that you can answer calls without people around you hearing what you’re saying.

The design looks admittedly retro, but i’s got a clean, streamlined vibe that is comfortable to wear and gets the job done. It’s lightweight and portable, which is crucial for something you’ll be tossing into your bag between meetings or after a long commute. It’s also designed to stay comfortable for long periods—a feature that’ll matter to anyone who spends hours on calls or gaming marathons.

Surprisingly, the tech has roots in aerospace technology. Developed with support from ONERA and Airbus Développement, it takes inspiration from systems built to handle the relentless noise and acoustics of aircraft cabins. That lineage shows up in how flawlessly it filters sound and isolates voices, even in settings that would make most headsets crumble. It’s the kind of crossover you don’t expect, like Bose, the audio company, also making suspension for vehicles. Or Yamaha, being equally good at making motorbikes and pianos.

Skyted is gearing up for a launch that aims to make this technology broadly available, with a $250 price tag on the headset. Considering its polished performance and the excitement it generated at CES, it feels like a strong contender to shake up the headset market – one that’s in desperate need for innovation.

AI, Robots, Smart Glasses and Projectors steal the show at CES Unveiled 2025

]]>

If you want a taste of what tech to expect in the new year, there’s no better place to be at than CES. The problem, however, is that CES is massive, and is spread across three large venues. Covering any ground at CES is a major task, which is why events like CES Unveiled are perfect grounds for exploring everything new that the tech world has to offer. CES Unveiled is much smaller than the main event, and gets held usually a day earlier. This is where tech brands and winners of CES awards come to showcase their stuff in a smaller venue before the big show.

We attended CES Unveiled 2025 and while the show was filled with a lot of interesting (and some slightly stale) tech, three things stood out. AI could be found practically in every single corner of Unveiled; Robots are becoming more useful and more prevalent thank to AI; Smart Glasses are also picking up speed thanks to LLMs and AI; and finally, it seems like ages ago that I saw a TV at CES Unveiled because projectors are becoming more and more popular.

AI is Everywhere

SkyTed.io Headset

We’re definitely in an AI bubble because you’ll find AI features everywhere. Sure, AI translators and image recognition is a pretty good way to use AI – but we’re now seeing AI built into products that probably didn’t need it to begin with. LLMs are becoming increasingly popular as a trend as well as a feature, being found in all products from earbuds to massive robots.

It’s difficult to tell whether the AI bubble will burst any time soon, but here’s something worth thinking about – AI is expensive, and companies will probably either A. Pass that expense onto the consumer, or B. Absorb the expense and make up the losses by harvesting data. However, there are areas where AI’s actually pretty impressive, like SkyTed’s headset, which uses a very powerful dual-direction microphone and AI noise-reduction to let you effectively whisper in a crowded room and have your voice seamlessly heard clearly on the other side.

Robots aren’t going anywhere

Enchanted Tools Robot

I have a theory. I’ve attended CES in both Vegas as well as CES Asia in Shanghai, and the main difference between them is the presence of robots. Americans are traditionally very hostile to robots because of pop culture demonizing them, like with Terminator, Transformers, etc. The east, on the other hand, has always seen robots as fun companions or superheroes, and it’s taken decades for the two cultures to come to a consensus – That robots are useful. Potentially scary, but useful.

CES Unveiled had its fair share of robots – some utilitarian, some cute. These robots have been around for ages, but they’re now powered by AI that helps them be more human by interacting with natural language as well as contextual memory.

Meta may have revived the Smart Glass trend

Mustard Smart Glasses

In all honesty, wearing the Meta Ray-Bans 2 to CES was an absolute godsend… but wearing it around exhibitors exhibiting similar glasses was a unique experience. Most people recognized that my specs had cameras in them, but what was truly interesting was to see such ubiquitous tech around. Smart glasses became more and more popular this CES, with specs like heads-up displays, XR displays, and even AI-enabled world-scanning.

Google launched the Google Glass back in 2013, and it’s safe to say that it’s taken nearly 12 years for the technology to truly become something ready for mass acceptance. Smart glasses are here, an they’re thinner and more powerful than ever before.

This Year’s Hot Take: Projectors > Televisions

Aurzen Tri-Fold Projector

Projectors are now at a point where they’re cheap, which honestly was the last frontier that they needed to conquer in their war with televisions. TVs have been the home entertainment standard for too long and I totally think it’s time they were replaced with projectors. Even a budget projector can cast a screen hundreds of inches wide, turning your entire wall into a display. Projectors are smaller than TVs too, which means you can carry them around from one room to another, or even to a backyard or your friend’s house.

We saw some pretty cool projectors including an ultra-short throw one from JMGO, and a palm-sized tri-fold one from Aurzen. My favorite, however, was a projector that could project make-up onto your face in real-time, allowing you to quickly cycle through looks.

CES officially begins on January 7th 2025, and we’re going to bring you the latest tech news from the ground. If you want to attend CES 2025, here’s how you can. Or follow Yanko Design’s CES coverage for more information.
